The Hastings-on-Hudson Community Solar project includes approximately 700 kW-DC of solar across two public schools: Hastings High School (1 Mount Hope Blvd) and Hillside Elementary (120 Lefurgy Ave). These community solar systems allow you and your neighbors to receive the benefits of renewable energy without the cost or hassle of installing panels on your own property. All the solar energy goes into the local grid system and is sold at a discount to subscribers of the project, saving them money on their electricity bills. This project would not have been possible without the close cooperation and support of Mayor Niki Armacost and the Board of Trustees as well as Superintendent McKersie and the Board of Education. Special thanks to HHS students Barney Smith and Erik Ghalib, for their advocacy of the project.
